INFANCY PROGRAM

In 1997 the Program of Attention to the Health of the Child was integrated that undertook the main causes of damage in that group of population. The achievements are identified chiefly in the reduction of the Childhood mortality, acute diarrheas and acute respiratory infections.

The success is supported in the training that has been given to the mothers or responsible for the care of the less than five years on the alarm signs identification, that permits to request the medical attention before complications are felt. Now it is sought to expand the objective to which the activities are directed. The focus is oriented not to the damage but to the prevention, this decision is of vanguard in our country, since is supported in the maintenance of the health to the nine years.

The National Program for the Reduction of the Childhood Mortality 2007-2012, is a program that counts on guidelines and clear objectives that will permit to achieve the reduction in the childhood mortality with clear strategies based on the training, the linking Inter-sectorial and intra-sectorial, and the participation of the general Community in an equality framework of opportunities for the Infancy in Mexico
